Champagne Henriot has unveiled one of its most ambitious creations, which was started almost 25 years ago. This wine is an expression of patience and the ultimate in blending across eight generations of the Henriot family. It represents the spine of the Maison’s style, its DNA.
It was in 1990 that Joseph Henriot had the vision to set aside in one vat a blend of 100% chardonnay all sourced from Grands Crus vineyards in the Côte des Blancs (4 villages : Mesnil-sur-Oger, Chouilly, Avize et Oger).
Since then, each year 3 to 20% of Henriot’s harvest from these four villages’ vineyards have been added to this vat, the quantity depending on the decision of the chef de cave. An equivalent proportion that is added to the blend is also drawn off to create this exceptional wine: CUVE 38 and maintain an eternal reserve. This process has given birth to a unique Champagne, with a low dosage, and to make it truly exceptional is produced entirely in magnum with only 1,000 produced each year.
The first release of this champagne in edition of 2009, is ready to reveal blend from 1990 to 2007. The 1000 magnums following, adding 2008 to the perpetual reserve, disclose the following year in individually numbered magnums. This blend of wines from 1990 - 2009.
